"Last Contact", by Stephen Baxter was featured in The Solaris Book of New Science Fiction Vol 1, and has been nominated for the prestigious Hugo Award.

At Solaris we are all very pleased to hear that Thief with No Shadow is a finalist in Romance Writers of America's Rita awards, which will be given at their annual conference at the end of July. Emily Gee is up for an award in two categories: Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements, and Best First Novel.

Solaris is delighted to announce a new acquisition from debut author TIM AKERS.
Heart of Veridon is the first book in the Burn Cycle. Jacob Burn is a disgraced airship pilot. He makes his own way in the criminal underworld of Veridon, the City of Cog. Jacob finds himself caught in a conspiracy of sabotage and murder between the government and the church, a mystery that stretches back into the roots of the city of Veridon itself.

Solaris is delighted to have purchased two new books, an anthology from Ellen Datlow, and a second Quincey Morris novel by Justin Gustainis.
To coincide with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Edgar Allan Poe, Solaris announce an anthology of remixed and reimagined tales inspired by his work and edited by Ellen Datlow.

In The Age of Ra, the ancient Egyptian gods have defeated all the other pantheons and claimed dominion over the Earth. The world is divided into warring factions, each under the aegis of a different deity. Lt. David Westwynter, a British soldier, stumbles into Freegypt, the only place on the planet to have remained independent of the gods’ influence. There, he encounters the followers of a humanist leader known as the Lightbringer, who has vowed to rid mankind of the shackles of divine oppression. David and the Lightbringer have a personal connection. And there is far more to this freedom fighter than it seems, even as he drags the world towards one final, apocalyptic battle.
