Happy publication day Europe At Midnight!

Dave Hutchinson's Europe At Midnight, the sublime sequel to smash-hit, multi-award nominated Europe At Autumn, is out today, and we are officially very excited.

The second book in the Fractured Europe sequence unfolds the world of the first book and opens it out like a map. It's about as sophisticated and beautifully written a science fiction novel as you're likely to read this (or any other) year - but don't take our word for it.

There's a cracking interview with Dave in the Morning Star (which called Europe At Midnight "brutal realpolitik in crumbling near-future states" which is pretty awesome if you ask us), and a few early - and brilliant - reviews you can check out below:

  • LA Review of books - calls Europe In Autumn "one of the most sophisticated science fiction novels of the decade" and then goes on to say Europe At Midnight "pitch-perfect, bursting with the same charisma and intricate world-building as its predecessor."
  • Love Reading - "A splendidly-engineered puzzler and a lesson in world-building."
  • SF Book reviews - "Mind expanding, accessible yet deeply layered fiction that matches anything those Pulitzer, Man-Booker or Hugo award winners could offer."
  • Blue Book Balloon - "A wonderful, fun book, a book to be savoured."

And don't forget, Dave is appearing at Forbidden Planet in London tonight, where he'll be reading from Europe At Midnight and taking part in a signing from 6pm. Come and say hello!
